Conscious or Unconscious – Crossed Wires & Fires

How do you communicate?  To be effective in our relationships with ourselves and others, it is important to unravel the wires and web that surround our actions and reactions.

It’s so easy to misjudge, to blame and point the finger.

As I listened to the story

As she walked into the nursery with all her anger, anxiety and frustration, she shouted at the teaching assistant. She had decided to vomit all that emotion and stored experiences at Lucy with her words and actions.

Had she taken the time to thank Lucy that her child was warm, loved and cared for with new clothes on, things might have been different. A classic crossed wire scenario.

Now Lucy was angry and could not understand.  She would now take all that vomit home and lovingly share it with her family.  Do you think it would be a peaceful, harmonious and happy atmosphere at home?  The answer is no.

Lucy kept on asking why, why, why ME?  I’m not the owner, the Manager.

Only when we can stand back, look at the scene and view it with a different perspective can we unravel the wires, crossed wires and miscommunication.

That day, Lucy learnt she didn’t have to accept the vomit of others and the deeper truth hidden behind the wires, she was greater than the fear she had of her father as a child.

She hugged me, thanked me and told me never ever change being who you are  …

When the past of childhood is present in our everyday interactions, there will be miscommunication, crossed wires, until there is a fire and someone has to call the fire brigade to stop it.

With an increase in violence and abuse at home, at school, at work and around the World it is time to unravel the crossed wires that can cause destruction.
