He listened to the story of a Father today …

As the girl was humiliated in class,

They had forgotten their words cut,

Made lashes as they touched the surface,

Then slowly deepened with every sarcastic blade,

As they all happily joined in amusement,

Like a chorus, not a moment of reflection,

Knife throwing was the game,

Waving their knives aiming at their target,

Rapid were their tongues, snappy happy with their lunges,

The louder the better, so they could all join in the circus,

Forgetting her enthusiasm for learning and life,

Belittling her ideas, words or viewpoint,

Thank God, The circus was over, someone had listened, she was moved to another class …

We speak of knives on our streets,

we forget the knives,

at school,

at home and at work …
