We never know what challenges lie ahead as we manoeuvre through life, as goals were set, tasks completed, and a celebration of a New Year resolutions each year, with a song of Auld Lang Syne as people intertwined hands, making a connection, remembered but never forgotten in our prayers.
Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot And never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot And days of auld lang syne? For auld lang syne, my dear For auld lang syne We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet For days of auld lang syne We twa hae run about the braes And pu’d the gowans fine But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit Sin days of auld lang syne We twa hae paidl’d i’ the burn Frae morning sun till dine But seas between us braid hae roar’d Sin days of auld lang syne For auld lang syne, my dear For auld lang syne We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet For days of auld lang syne And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp And surely I’ll be mine And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet For auld lang syne And there’s… | And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp And surely I’ll be mine And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet For auld lang syne And there’s a hand, my trusty fiere And gie’s a hand o’ thine And we’ll tak a right gude-willy waught For auld lang syne For auld lang syne, my dear For auld lang syne We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet For auld lang syne For auld lang syne, my dear For auld lang syne We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet For auld lang syne |

CHAPTER ONE
Hello & Welcome
The Word Today is
Sparkle
The day started with a blanket of white clouds in the sky. As I sat with a warm cup of coffee and looked to the sky for inspiration to the start of the week.
Suddenly, I took in a breath of fresh air, closed my eyes in a moment of silence, there was a flash of light, so bright like a great star that seemed to shine outwards, as I opened my eyes, I could hear the roars of thunder and then lightening filled the sky on this peaceful Monday morning.
The heavens opened and the stones fell hard to the ground on the pebbled pathway.
The inspiration for the day was the word Kindness and a reflection of two phrases:
“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”
Lao Tzu
“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”
Mark Twain
—oooOOOooo—
God made the stars to fill your eyes with sparkle
Just as we embrace a new-born child and we see the sparkle in their eyes for the first time, as our face light up and we have a moment of sparkle.
To enjoy the splendour of the morning breeze as it brushes over our faces, through our hair, and refreshes every part of our lives. Be the star I know you always can be and sparkle from inside out sharing your kindness.
Just as the sun came after the storm and hail stones, as the raindrops sparkled in the evergreen pine trees, shining golden and red.
Light up someone’s life today.
God Bless. Keep Safe, Keep Well, and Keep Smiling!
Sparkles
What is it about sparklers that makes them so fascinating to little children? Is it because the sparklers shed an intermittent light in contrast to the dull, monotonous continuous light that beams from a light bulb or a fluorescent tube?
Why are girls so enamoured of party dresses that are covered with sparkles? Perhaps, it is because it makes the girl with a sparkler dress stand out from all the other girls with plain, patterned dresses.
Why is it that on bonfire night everyone, including the adults, gasp with admiration when the most spectacular fireworks soar into the night sky and transform the darkness into a sea of light? It must be the scintillating light that turns our drab life into a brief moment of excitement.
Think how exciting it could be if the sparklers stayed alight for longer or if the girl with the party dress could evoke the same sort of admiration whatever dress she was wearing. And the people watching the spectacular fireworks are wistfully yearning that their lives could always be one long period of excitement rather than the drab, dreary grind of everyday working life.
