Friday Reflections from the Past
Reflejos de sol del pasado
This week the sunshine filled our family’s life as we celebrated Daniel’s tiresome efforts, dedication and perseverance to rise above the challenge as only 5 graduated from International Business Management.
Friday Reflection from the Past
When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.
War does not determine who is right – only who is left.
I’m not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you.
This is the precept by which I have lived: Prepare for the worst; expect the best; and take what comes.
You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.
What you see and hear depends on a great deal on where you are standing.
Listen to silence. It has so much to say.
What a strange illusion it is to suppose that beauty is goodness.
When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.
Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.
There’s only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self.
Evil destroys even itself.
Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past over and over again.
We are sun and moon, dear friend; we are sea and land. It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognize each other, to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is: each the other’s opposite and complement.
Have a wonderful weekend.
