A Tuesday evening thought, after a day in the office. Hopefully having left each person with a Smile to take away with them, a word of comfort for those who needed that extra word of understanding, direction and reassurance.
I never know What to expect on a daily basis but one thing I have very clear is every life matters.
As a mum, therapist and author I had the opportunity to look back and realise who mattered most and my no.1 priority.
As I lay in the hospital in December many years ago. When the doctors were about to leave me, surrounded by blooded sheets, looking like a Michelin advert. When the infection had nearly taken over and when organs start shutting down.
My strength, determination and love for my son would be motivation to rise to the challenge. No matter how hard, no matter the time it took to be able to enjoy every moment with him, his brother and sister.
To face adversity and to know how much they are loved and watching them grow to accomplish their dreams just as their mum did.
So as December approaches if every day we can rise to the challenge and make that person Smile. A moment of gratitude as Thanks Giving is only a few days away to be grateful for our families, friends, neighbours and communities who every day find a new way of bringing solutions and Smiles who need that extra loving care and attention.
Thank you for taking the time to read to the end and sharing my words with others.
